Mark Sayer | Managing Director

Mark is the founder of Middleton and a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with 20+ years’ experience across the UK, UAE and Middle East. A Fellow of the RICS and certified Expert Witness, he is frequently appointed on complex quantum and delay disputes. Previously, he led contract strategy at Dubai International Airport and served as SVP at Damac. At Middleton, Mark oversees major construction claims on projects exceeding AED 16bn, known for delivering clarity and commercially sound outcomes.

Robert Gaunt | Director
Claims Management

Robert is a dispute resolution specialist and Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He leads claims strategy and site based investigations on major UK and Middle East projects. With deep knowledge of time and money claims, concurrency and commercial risk, Robert advises at board level with clarity and confidence. His project experience spans high-rise, hospitality, retail and mixed-use developments, often resolving complex claims in fast moving environments.

Uday Chukka | Director
Forensic & Project Planning


Uday is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and qualified Forensic Delay Analyst (BTEC Level 7) with extensive experience across AED 3 billion+ projects. He leads Middleton’s forensic planning team, producing expert level delay analysis and clear, concise reports for dispute resolution. Skilled in SCL protocols and concurrency investigations, Uday brings structure, technical rigour and clear communication to complex forensic planning challenges.

Isuru Fernando | Director
Expert Services

Isuru is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Registered RICS Expert Witness with broad international experience across sectors including energy, infrastructure, and healthcare. A member of both MRICS and MCIArb, he specialises in quantum analysis, contract strategy and dispute resolution. He has led claims exceeding USD 500 million and is recognised for his forensic detail and clear advice to clients and legal teams.

Kanya is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor specialising in commercial management, procurement and dispute resolution. With over a decade of experience, she has delivered across public and private sector projects in the UK and UAE. Known for her precision and structured approach, Kanya supports clients across all project stages, particularly in infrastructure, residential, and government-led developments. At Middleton, she ensures complex commercial matters are managed with clarity and control.

James Sayer | Associate Director
Claims & Contracts


James is a claims consultant and Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, specialising in time and cost claims across major construction projects. James has led strategies on developments worth up to AED 5 billion, spanning high-rise, hospitality, residential and retail sectors. Known for his stakeholder management and understanding of UAE contracts, James helps contractors resolve disputes efficiently and with minimal risk.
